Dental treatment

All costs covered for prevention, early detection and treatment

Dental treatment covers all of the necessary work associated with the prevention, early detection and treatment of tooth, oral or jaw diseases, along with any fillings that may be required.

Dental treatment – your SBK benefits

  • We cover the costs of your medically necessary dental treatment.
  • As an SBK customer, you benefit from supplementary dental insurance from our partner ARAG at particularly favorable conditions.
  • You can save money on dentures through our partner Medikompass.
  • Would you like to switch to SBK? Arrange a free consultation now.

    How to receive dental treatment

Your dentist will examine your teeth and decide which treatment is appropriate and necessary for you on an individual basis. Together, you will decide which filling is right for you during your dental treatment. To ease the financial burden on you, we as your health insurance provider will cover the costs of your medically necessary dental treatment. We will cover the costs of the following dental fillings for you during dental treatment:

  • Plastic filling materials such as glass ionomer cement and compomer
  • Composite plastic fillings in the front teeth up to and including tooth three (You may have to pay a co-payment for this. Your dentist will provide you with information on this.)
  • The use of amalgam as a filling material has not been possible. The reason for this is an EU-wide ban on amalgam fillings in dentistry. However, this does not mean that existing amalgam fillings have to be replaced. Your dentist will decide whether existing amalgam fillings need to be replaced.

    Save money on dental treatment

When it comes to dentures and fillings, there are many options, questions and big differences in the costs of dental treatments.. Our partner MediKompass can help: by entering your treatment and cost plan at www.medikompass.de/sbk (currently only in German), you will receive offers from various dental practices and can thus significantly reduce your own contribution.

    Supplementary dental insurance

Even more security with ARAG supplementary dental insurance: As an SBK customer, you benefit from supplementary insurance policies for the costs of dental treatment, which we offer at special conditions together with our cooperation partner ARAG. ARAG's supplementary dental insurance covers your own contribution to the costs of dental treatment, dentures and orthodontics up to the agreed amount - depending on the tariff. Your personal SBK consultant will be happy to provide you with more information.

What costs are covered by the SBK?

With the SBK, you save money on your dental treatment, because the SBK pays for it for you. The prerequisite is that your dental treatment is medically essential and that the treatment of your teeth only includes the necessary measures.

How are the costs covered by the SBK?

Your dental surgery will settle the costs of your dental treatment directly with the SBK. Simply present your SBK healthcare card when you visit the doctor.

In the event that services require prior approval – for example, periodontal treatment – your dentist will contact us directly. Generally speaking, you will receive the go-ahead from us with regard to taking on the contractual treatment costs within a few days of us receiving the necessary paperwork.

If you have received a treatment plan for dentures from your dentist, you can find  information on how you can easily and conveniently submit this to us here
